Japanischer Frachter HTV-8 hat an der ISS angedockt

Der japanische Frachter HTV-8 hat am Samstag an der Internationalen Raumstation ISS angedockt. Er wurde mit einem Roboterarm eingefangen und dann an die Station umgesetzt, meldete die Nachrichtenagentur Kyodo. Das unbemannte Raumschiff war am Dienstag an der Spitze einer H-2B-Trägerrakete vom Weltraumbahnhof Tanegashima aufgestiegen.

NASA astronaut Jessica Meir took a five-hour and 45-minute ride to the orbiting lab on Wednesday with Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Skripochka and spaceflight participant Hazzaa Ali Almansoori of the United Arab Emirates. They blasted off from Kazakhstan inside the Soyuz MS-15 crew ship and docked to the rear port of the Zvezda service module. Family and mission officials on the ground congratulated the trio shortly after the new crew boarded the station expanding the population of the space lab to nine.

CASIS hires lots of people with no space experience to run the place. The person who was supposed to replace former CASIS PR guy Brian Talbot, Chief Communications Officer John Murphy, is out of his job at CASIS. So is Chief Strategic Officer Rick Leach according to sources. CASIS CEO Joe Vockley is still on full pay – but without any current CASIS responsibilities.
